In 2002 while travelling in South Africa we made a chance visit to the De Hannes Rust stud of Piet Viljoen, it was here that we noticed "the ram with the broken horn".  We were very impressed with this buck and after much deliberation we decided to purchase him.  This buck was De Hannes Rust 0106 which we purchased for R50,000 at the Graaff-Reinet sale in November 2002.  After the purchase Piet Viljoen decided to call the ram "Timark" after his new owners.  This purchase heralded the start of a partnership with Piet Viljoen, with Timark  going back to De Hannes Rust to be used in that stud in exchange for access to elite De Hannes Rust does for an embryo collection program.

De Hannes Rust 0106-185 "Timark"

Purchased at Graaff-Reinet sale 2002 for R50,000 has bred exceptionally well both in South Africa and in Australia.  See his top 2005 drop sons in South Africa

De Hannes Rust 0255-185 "Khulu" was purchased at the 2003 Graaff-Reinet sale in South Africa.  He is a half brother to Timark and is a very tall sire with very soft handling mohair.  He has some top sons in the 2004 drop in Australia and South Africa.
In 2003 in partnership with Piet Viljoen we purchased some does from Denys Hobson to introduce a different bloodline to the animals we were importing.  The does purchased were elite animals from the 2001 drop they have produced some exciting progeny.
After completing a study tour of South African studs in 2004, we decided to purchase a son of Schoongezicht Freek.  We purchased Schoongezicht 0342 "Reino" at the 2004 Graaff-Reinet auction.  Reino is now running with the other animals at De Hannes Rust and will be used in future embryo collection programs.

In March 2005 Denys Hobson dispersed the majority of his stud flock in South Africa, we were fortunate to be able to purchase the top pen of seven 2003 drop does at this sale.  These does were predominantly sired by Lochdale Prince a sire that is performing exceptionally well in South Africa.  These does will be used in future embryo collection programs.

Zwartberg 05200 "Clive" was recently purchased at the Graaff Reinet sale in 2006.  With him are Clive van Hasselt, breeder, Cassie Classens, CMW and Boy, Zwartberg foreman.  He has exceptional bone and excellent head and horns, he is free of colour and kemp and has a quality fleece.  We believe this sire will have a big impact on our future breeding programs and will grow into a sire of extreme proportions.  He tested 30.7micron and weighed 72kg at the sale.
Mallee Park has also secured a share in Schoongezicht 05 B4.  An interest was purchased in this sire because of his exceptional fleece quality and length.  He is free of faults and carries an excellent staple from head to tail
