Piet & Petro Viljoen run their small stud operation just North of Kleinpoort in the south of South Africa.  They focus on producing high quality sires for industry and high quality mohair for sale.  Since 2003, Piet has entered a bale in the Zegan kid mohair competition - the most prestigious mohair competition in the world.  Through his dedication to quality the bale was placed 5th in 2003 and 2nd in 2004.  The 2004 bale contained fleeces from predominantly Timark progeny.

An analysis of the average fibre diameter of rams entered in the Graaff Reinet Sale over the last 5 years.  Graaff Reinet is the premier stud Angora ram sale in South Africa.  The graph shows the progress of Piet Viljoen in comparison to other stud breeders.  The reduction in fibre diameter achieved by Piet is largely due to the influence of Timark and Khulu.
